Bluesky

Connect Bluesky to Social9 with an app password, see the 300-character, image and video limits, and set threads, reply rules, link cards and content labels.

On this page

Social9 posts to your Bluesky account. You connect it with an app password, not your normal password.

Where to find it#

Tools → Channels → Connect Channel → Bluesky.

Bluesky is on every plan, including Free.

Make an app password#

  1. In Bluesky, open Settings → Privacy and security → App passwords.
  2. Add a new app password. Name it "Social9" so you know what it is for.
  3. Copy it. It looks like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.

An app password can only be used by apps. You can delete it in Bluesky any time, and Social9's access ends.

Connecting#

  1. On the Channels page, press Connect Channel and pick the Bluesky tile.
  2. Type Your handle, for example yourname.bsky.social.
  3. Paste the App password.
  4. Press Connect.

Social9 stores the app password encrypted.

If you get "Bluesky did not accept that handle and app password", check both and try again. Do not use your normal password.
