Data Deletion Instructions

Option 1: Delete your Social9 account

This deletes your account and everything in it, including every connected social media account.

1. Sign in at app.social9.com.
2. Go to Account Settings → Delete Account.
3. Confirm. Any active subscription is cancelled and you receive a confirmation email.

Want a copy first? Go to Account Settings → Privacy → Download My Data before deleting.

Option 2: Disconnect one social media account

This keeps your Social9 account but removes one connected account and its data.

1. Sign in at app.social9.com.
2. Go to Channels → select the account → Disconnect.

We revoke Social9's access token with the platform where the platform supports it, cancel posts still scheduled for that account, and delete its tokens and profile data within 7 days.

Option 3: Remove Social9 from Facebook or Instagram

You can remove Social9 from Meta's side without signing in to Social9.

Facebook

1. Open Facebook and go to Settings & privacy → Settings.
2. Open Business integrations (or Apps and websites).
3. Find Social9, select it and choose Remove.

Instagram

1. Open Instagram and go to Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites.
2. Under Active, select Social9 and choose Remove.

Threads

1. Open Threads and go to Settings → Account → Website permissions.
2. Select Social9 and choose Remove.

When Meta tells us you removed Social9, or the next time we find our access has been revoked, we delete the tokens and data for those accounts within 30 days. Removing Social9 on Meta does not delete your Social9 account or the posts you drafted there; use Option 1 for that.

Option 4: Remove Social9 from another platform

Option 5: Ask us by email

If you cannot sign in, or want us to do it for you, email support@social9.com with the subject Data Deletion Request and include:

• The email address of your Social9 account
• Whether you want your whole account deleted, or only specific connected accounts (for example, a Facebook Page name or Instagram username)

Send the request from the email address on your account so we can confirm it is yours. If you only connected through a social platform and have no other way to prove ownership, we may ask you to confirm through that platform. We confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days, then email you to confirm it is done.

What gets deleted

• Access and refresh tokens for your connected accounts
• Profile details received from each platform (account IDs, names, usernames, profile pictures, Page and board lists)
• Drafts, scheduled posts, published post records and post metrics
• Images and videos in your media library
• Your Social9 profile, brand voice settings and AI generation history (account deletion only)

Timing

• Disconnecting an account in Social9: within 7 days
• Removing Social9 on the platform: within 30 days
• Deleting your Social9 account or emailing us: within 30 days
• Encrypted backups are overwritten within a further 35 days

What we keep, and why

• Billing and tax records, which the law requires us to keep for up to 7 years. These contain no data from your social media accounts.
• A minimal record that a deletion request was received and completed, so we can prove we honoured it.

What we cannot delete

Posts that Social9 already published are on the platform, not in Social9. Deleting your Social9 data does not remove them. Delete them on the platform itself if you want them gone.

Questions
