So, Facebook's got, like, a TON of people on it. As of recent data, there are over 90 million active small business pages, and globally, 2.6 billion people hop on every month. That's a crazy amount of folks! It can feel pretty tough to get noticed and actually get people to hit that "like" button on your Facebook business page.

You probably know the struggle if you're in marketing or blogging, trying to snag those precious thumbs-ups. It's a challenge, for sure, but it's also super rewarding when it works.

Honestly, who would've thought a little blue hand giving a thumbs-up would become such a big deal in digital marketing? It's wild. Did you know a single Facebook fan can be worth around $136.38? That's a lot of dough! Of course, that number can change depending on your industry and business, but getting your customers' and viewers' attention and loyalty on Facebook is still a really big deal.

Now, you might already know about Facebook's paid ad platforms – they can definitely help get likes on your page. But today, we're gonna focus on some free ways to rack up those "thumbs up" for your Facebook page.

1- Visuals are a must for your content strategy

Adding images and videos is one of the best ways to get people engaged on your page. So, throw in some videos, infographics, and GIFs to make your content pop and reach more people. Plus, don't forget to share these visual posts from your business page onto your blogs or website.

2- Check out Facebook’s Page Plugins

"Like boxes" are kinda old news now, replaced by Facebook's page plugins. These plugins help share your content better and can really boost your page likes. Also, sticking a "Like us on Facebook" button on your site's "thank you" page can make customers more likely to click it, especially if they're excited about something they just bought.

3- Work on your posts

Make your posts super interesting but also keep them relevant. Using tools like Facebook Insights will give you a good idea of what content your audience actually likes. So, figure out which posts get the most reach and do more of those. Also, don't post randomly; it makes you look like you don't really care about your Facebook business page. And make sure you've got "like" and "share" buttons on every single post.

Giving your prospects valuable content will get them talking, and that eventually leads to more likes and shares.

4- Use blogs to promote your Facebook page

Blog posts are awesome for promoting your Facebook business page. Put links to your Facebook page on all your blog posts. You can also tag other relevant pages in your posts – this introduces your page to those page owners and their fans. Plus, jump into conversations on popular blogs. When asked for your URL in a discussion, drop your Facebook business page link.

5- Use other social networks for promotion

Sometimes, you can use social networks like LinkedIn and Twitter to point your connections and followers to discussions happening on your Facebook business page.

6- Follow the 80/20 rule for promotional content

It's a good idea to spend about 20% of your time on promotional content. The other 80% should be for non-promotional stuff. But really, you should understand your audience first and then make your strategy.

7- Promote your Facebook business page from your Facebook profile

Put the link to your Facebook business page on your personal Facebook profile. Add it as your "place of employment" in the "About" section. Also, join other Facebook groups to chat about what's happening in your industry. If people like your ideas, they might click on your name to see more about you. That way, your Facebook page and business name can get noticed through your profile.

8- Entice your Facebook fans with discounts and coupons

You can offer coupons and discounts to your Facebook fans. This can actually get you more fans because a good chunk of people become fans just to get deals and discounts.

9- Entice your visitors with freebies

Flash freebies can attract more likes to your business page. Offer things like, "Early bird special: the first 10 people to call me get a prize worth $10," and watch your page likes go up.

10- Use Facebook’s Graph Search to find people

You can search for users who like pages similar to yours using Graph Search. Type "pages liked by people who like my page" into the search bar. This way, you can focus your efforts on these users because they're more likely to be interested in what you offer. It's a smarter way to approach things.

11- Connect with your customers

Make time regularly to chat with your customers. Nobody wants to build a relationship with a brand that's just a ghost. Connect with your customers first.

12- Optimize (SEO) your Facebook page: Keep it updated

You gotta use more relevant keywords on your Facebook page. The sections that should always be updated are the title, About section, name, address, your website link, and phone number. This helps people find you easier, both on Facebook and maybe even in search engines.

13- Create your own group to reach more prospects

Some prospects might be a little hesitant to like a brand's page right away. Creating your own group can help you reach those people. It can get them more involved and help build trust.

14- Team up with a complementary page

Partner with other pages that are similar to yours to cross-promote each other. This way, you can both gain more audiences.

15- Put your page link in your email signature

You can also add your business page's link to your email signature. And, you can invite all your email contacts to your Facebook page by sending them a quick email about it.

16- Get your employees involved in the Likes squad

Your employees are your biggest cheerleaders. Get them to like your Facebook business page.

17- Use your fans to spread the word about your page's photos

Ask your fans to tag themselves in photos from different events. Their friends and acquaintances will see them, and your page will get more visibility.

18- Celebrate Follow Friday

Some pages on Facebook do "Follow Friday." Participate to share connections and advertise your business. It helps increase your page likes.

Bonus tips:-

  • You can show a "like us on Facebook" bar at the top of your WordPress site using the plugin WP-TopBar.
  • Include your Facebook page URL on every GIF, infographic, or video on your blog posts and website.
  • Add a "connect with us on Facebook" button on your blog posts and website.
  • You can also add your Facebook business page's link in your author bio.
  • Get a vanity URL. It looks better and is easier to remember.

While likes are really important for your Facebook business page, grabbing your viewer’s attention is what really makes your page successful. Focus on creating valuable content, and it'll naturally gather likes for your business page.
