# Options per network

> The extra settings each network offers, such as a first comment, a Reel, a poll or a YouTube title, and which ones are required.

Every network has its own extras. You never have to touch them: the defaults work fine. Open them when you want a first comment, a Reel, a thread or a poll.

---

## Where to find it

**Dashboard → Create → Network options** (the third tab under the text box). An orange dot on the tab means something needs fixing before you can schedule.

Each network you picked gets its own section, **Options for** the network. The common options are at the top. Press **More options** for the rest.

If a section says **Needs one thing**, a required option is missing. You cannot schedule until it is filled in.

---

## What each network offers

| Network | Main options | Required |
|---|---|---|
| **Facebook** | First comment. A link to share (when the post has no media). Video title | Nothing |
| **Instagram** | Post type: Feed (or Carousel), Reel or Story. First comment. Collaborators (up to 3). Location. Tag people. For Reels: cover and "Also show in the main feed" | Nothing |
| **Threads** | Who can reply. Post as a thread. Topic tag. Link attachment. Quote a post | Nothing |
| **LinkedIn** | Who can see it: Anyone or Connections only. First comment. Article link (when the post has no media) | Nothing |
| **X** | Post as a thread. Who can reply. Add a poll. Quote a post | Nothing |
| **TikTok** | Who can see this post. Allow comments, Duet and Stitch. Disclose post content. Label as AI-generated. Cover frame. Photo post title and music | **Who can see this post** |
| **YouTube** | Title. Visibility: Public, Unlisted or Private. Made for kids. Tags, category, playlist. Custom thumbnail. Notify subscribers. This is a Short | **Made for kids**. The title is taken from the first line of your text if you leave it empty |
| **Pinterest** | Board. Pin title. Destination link. Alt text. Private note | **A board**. Pick one here or on the Channels page |
| **Google Business Profile** | Post type: Update, Event or Offer. Button and button link. Event or offer title and dates. Coupon code and terms | **Title, start and end** for an Event or Offer. A **Button link** for buttons that open a page |
| **Bluesky** | Post as a thread. Who can reply. Link card. Languages. Content warning labels. Quote a post | Nothing |
| **Mastodon** | Visibility. Content warning. Post as a thread. Mark media as sensitive. Language. Add a poll | Nothing |

Each network's page in [Networks](https://social9.com/docs/networks) explains its options in more detail.

## Threads for long text

On **X**, **Threads**, **Bluesky** and **Mastodon** you can turn on **Post as a thread**. Social9 splits long text into numbered posts that each fit the network's limit. You can edit each part, **Add part**, or **Split again from main text**.

If your text is too long and you have not turned threads on, the section tells you. Turn it on, or write shorter text for that network.

---

## First comments

A first comment is posted as a comment right after the post goes live. It is a good place for a link or extra hashtags. It works on **Facebook**, **Instagram** and **LinkedIn**.

---

## Polls

**X** and **Mastodon** can add a poll with up to 4 choices. A poll cannot have photos or video.
