# CSV import

Source: https://social9.com/docs/posts/csv-import

> Import up to 500 posts from Excel or Google Sheets, the columns Social9 reads, and how it checks every row before importing.

Planned your posts in a spreadsheet? Import them all at once. Social9 checks every row first and tells you what to fix, in plain words.

---

## Where to find it

**Dashboard → Upload → Import a CSV.**

---

## Get your file ready

Press **Download template** for an example file. The first row must have the column names.

| Column | What to put in it | Required |
|---|---|---|
| **date** | The day, as YYYY-MM-DD. For example `2026-11-03` | To schedule |
| **time** | `14:30` or `2:30 pm` | No. Social9 picks a good time if empty |
| **timezone** | A name like `Europe/London`. Leave empty to use your workspace timezone | No |
| **networks** | Network names like `instagram; linkedin`, or account names from the Channels page | No. Empty means all the brand's accounts |
| **text** | The post | Text or a media url |
| **media url** | Links to images or videos, starting with `https://`. Up to 10 | Text or a media url |
| **first comment** | A first comment. Posted on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn only | No |
| **link** | A link for the post | No |

Social9 also understands common other names, such as **caption** for text or **image** for media url. Columns it does not know are ignored, and it tells you which.

In Excel or Google Sheets, use **File → Download → CSV**.

---

## Importing

1. Drop your file on the page, or press **Choose a CSV file**.
2. Choose **Import as**: **Scheduled posts**, **Drafts** or **For approval**.
3. Read the check. Every row shows **Ready** or what needs fixing.
4. Press **Import**. The button says how many posts it will import.

Rows with problems are not imported. Press **Download rows to fix**, fix them in your spreadsheet, and import that file.

---

## Limits

- Up to 500 rows and 2 MB per file. Split bigger files.
- **For approval** is part of the Team plan and up.
- Scheduled rows need a date in the future.

> **Tip:** Write dates as YYYY-MM-DD. A date like `03/11` could mean March or November. Social9 reads it as month/day and warns you.
