# Approvals

> How posts end up waiting for approval, who can approve them, and what happens when you approve or send one back.

Approvals is where posts wait for someone to say yes before they go out.

## Where to find it

**Dashboard → Approvals.** The number next to it is how many posts are waiting. The **Home** page also lists them under **Needs you**.

## How posts get here

| From | When |
|---|---|
| **Autopilot in Approve first mode** | Every post it writes. See [Autopilot modes](https://social9.com/docs/planning/autopilot-modes) |
| **Autopilot in Full mode** | Only posts that mention one of your blocked words |
| **Plan many** | When you press **Send … to Approvals** |
| **Create** | When someone presses **Ask a teammate to approve** |
| **Upload and CSV import** | When someone picks **Send to approvals** or **For approval** |

## Which plans have it

Asking a teammate for approval, from Create, Upload or CSV import, is part of the **Team** plan and up. On Free and Individual those buttons show a Team lock.

On **Individual**, Approvals still collects the posts Autopilot writes in **Approve first** mode, for you to approve yourself.

## Approving

1. Read the post. Press **Edit post** if it needs a change.
2. Press **Approve**.

An approved post with a time goes on the calendar and posts at that time. One without a time moves to **Library → Drafts**, ready to schedule.

To do many at once, tick them and press **Approve … selected**, or **Approve all**.

> **Tip:** On a computer: **J** and **K** move between posts, **A** approves, **R** sends back, **X** selects.

## Sending a post back

Press **Send back to drafts**. You can say what should change under **What should change? (optional)**. Then press **Send back**. The post moves to drafts so the writer can fix it.

| **Owner** | Yes |
| **Admin** | Yes |
| **Approver** | Yes |
| **Editor** | No. Editors write posts and ask for approval |
| **Viewer** | No |
