Social9 uploads videos and Shorts to your YouTube channel. Every YouTube post is exactly one video.

## Where to find it

**Dashboard → Channels → YouTube → Connect.**

YouTube is on the Individual plan and up.

## Connecting

1. Press **Connect** on the YouTube card.
2. Sign in with the Google account that owns the channel, and allow Social9.

If you get "This Google account has no YouTube channel yet", create a channel on YouTube first, then connect again.

## What a post can include

| **Description** (your post text) | 5,000 characters |
| **Video** | Exactly 1 |
| **Images** | None |

## Options

Under **Network options tab → Options for YouTube**:

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Title (required by YouTube)** | Up to 100 characters. If you leave it empty, the first line of your text is used |
| **Visibility** | **Public**, **Unlisted** or **Private** |
| **Is this video made for kids? (required)** | YouTube requires an answer for every video |
| **Tags**, **Category**, **Playlist** | Help people find it |
| **Custom thumbnail URL** | JPG or PNG under 2 MB. Needs a verified YouTube channel |
| **Notify subscribers** | On by default |
| **This is a Short** | Vertical video up to 3 minutes. Adds #Shorts |
| **Contains realistic altered or synthetic content** | YouTube's label for realistic AI or edited content |

## Notes after posting

Sometimes the post is marked as posted with a note. The usual ones:

| Note | What it means |
|---|---|
| **YouTube kept this video private** | YouTube keeps uploads from apps it has not approved yet private. Change it to public in YouTube Studio |
| **Custom thumbnail wasn't accepted** | The channel is not verified, or the image is over 2 MB |
| **The video couldn't be added to the playlist** | Reconnect YouTube to allow playlists |

If YouTube's daily upload limit is used up, Social9 tries again later by itself.
