# Brand voice

> Teach the AI how your brand sounds and which facts it may use, so posts need less editing.

Brand voice is how the AI knows how you talk. Every AI writer in Social9 uses it: posts, rewrites, plans, captions, ideas and images.

## Where to find it

**Dashboard → Brands → open the brand → Voice.**

In Create, if you have not set it up yet, the **AI write** tab offers **Set up Brand Voice**.

## Start from your website

1. Type your website under **Website to analyze**.
2. Press **Analyze my website**. Social9 reads your site and suggests a tone, words and facts. It uses about 4 credits.
3. Check what it filled in.
4. Press **Save voice**.

Nothing is saved until you press **Save voice**. The top of the page says **Not saved** until you do.

## What you can set

| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| **Tone** | Sliders for **Formality**, **Mood** and **Detail** |
| **Emoji** | How many emoji to use |
| **Audience and call to action** | **Who you're talking to** and your **Main call to action** |
| **Words** | **Words and phrases we use**, and **Words we never use**. Press Enter after each |
| **Hashtags per network** | Hashtags for each network you post on |
| **Posts that sound like you** | Paste up to 3 posts you wrote and liked. The AI copies the rhythm and word choice, not the content |
| **Facts sheet** | Your products and services, prices, offers and dates, and other facts |

## The facts sheet

The facts sheet is the most useful part. It holds the only prices, offers, dates and numbers the AI is allowed to use.

| **Other facts** | Open 7am–3pm. Family-run since 2012. 12 Market St, Leeds |

The switch **AI may only state facts from the facts sheet** is on by default. Leave it on. Any price, date or number in a draft that is not on the sheet gets a **Check this** warning. See [Fact checks](https://social9.com/docs/brand/fact-checks-and-why-this-post).

> **Tip:** When an offer ends, take it off the facts sheet. Otherwise the AI may keep mentioning it.

## Try it before you save

Under **Preview in this voice**, paste any post, pick a network under **For**, and press **Preview**. The AI rewrites it with the settings on the page, saved or not. It uses 4 credits.
