# Guest approvals

> Send a client a link to approve posts or ask for changes without a login, and set up client approval steps.

A client review link lets your client look at your posts and approve them, without a Social9 account.

**Which plan:** Team, Agency and Enterprise.

---

## Where to find it

**Dashboard → Agency → Client approvals.** Pick the brand in the switcher at the top first. Only owners and admins can make review links.

---

## How to make a review link

1. Under **Client review links**, choose what to share:
   - **Pick posts**: tick posts that are waiting in Approvals, or
   - **Date range**: every post planned between two dates (up to 3 months).
2. Optional: type a **Label (optional)**, e.g. "November posts". Only your team sees it.
3. Pick how long the link **Works for** (3 to 90 days).
4. Press **Create review link**, then **Copy link**, and send it to your client.

The link is shown only once. If you lose it, make a new one.

---

## What your client sees

Your client opens the link and sees each post with its text, images or video, the accounts it goes to, the planned time (in the brand's timezone) and any different wording per network.

They type their name once. Then, for each post waiting for them, they press **Approve** or **Request changes** (with a comment).

Their name, decision and comment show under the post for everyone with the link, in **Agency → Client approvals → Latest client decisions**, and in the post's approval history.

| Your client presses | What happens |
|---|---|
| **Approve** (last step) | The post is scheduled for its planned time. A post without a time moves to **Approved** |
| **Approve** (not the last step) | The post moves on to the next of your client approval steps |
| **Request changes** | The post goes back to **Drafts** with the comment. Fix it and send it for approval again |

---

## How to set up client approval steps

Client approval steps (formerly Approval chain) are several approvals in a row, per brand. For example: your account manager checks the post, then your client approves it from the link, then a final team check.

1. Go to **Agency → Client approvals → Client approval steps**.
2. Press **Add step** and choose **Team approver** or **Client (review link)**. Give the step a name.
3. Add more steps and put them in order. You can have up to 5.
4. Press **Save chain**.

A post is only scheduled after the **last** step is approved. If anyone asks for changes or rejects it, it goes back to drafts and starts again from step 1 next time. Remove every step to go back to one normal approval.

---

## How to turn a link off

In **Agency → Client approvals**, press **Turn off** next to the link. It stops working at once. Decisions already made stay.

---

## Good to know

- Links also stop working on their own when they expire.
- If a post can't be scheduled yet (for example, an account needs reconnecting), your client still sees "Thanks" and the post stays in **Approvals** for your team to fix.
- While a post waits for the client, approving it in **Approvals** tells you it is waiting for the client. While it waits for your team, the client sees **With the team** instead of the buttons.
- On Free and Individual, the tab shows a **Team plan** badge and an **Upgrade** button.
- Connected AI assistants can make a review link with the `share_link_create` tool. See [Tools reference](https://social9.com/docs/ai-apps/tools-reference).
